It all began when our music listening habits slowly slipped out of our control. Every time we opened the app, algorithmic impositions, copy-paste playlists, and constantly interrupting ads built an invisible wall between us and our music. Every time we hit the like button, we realized we were simply feeding an algorithm.
But the issue wasn't just ads or repetitive songs; there was also an unseen data dimension. The instant processing of every artist we listened to, our current mood, or our location transformed music from a personal experience into a commercial targeting tool. In an ecosystem where every move was tracked through cookies, trackers, and behavioral analysis, simply listening to music required a heavy data cost. When complex subscription plans and uncontrollable hidden fees were added to this, we decided to step outside the existing system.
We were looking for a free platform that didn't require account management or track user activity. After searching for a long time without success, we decided to take the first step ourselves.
This quest led us to Lunetune, our first step. Our goal was simple: To offer a completely free music experience without accounts or tracking. But as we developed the project, we realized we needed more than just a simple player. We envisioned a more secure infrastructure, a more performant architecture, and a truly user-centric structure. This dream ultimately gave birth to Melech. Melech was built on an architecture where control is entirely in the user's hands. With this new structure, we created a peaceful and secure music space that rivals other music apps, free from algorithmic impositions, where only the songs you choose play. Now you can be the owner of your own music, not data for big corporations.
No need to remember email, password, or username. Open the browser, play the music.
We don't know who listened to what, and we don't want to know. Your music taste is your business.
No hidden costs, no premium tiers. Open source, community supported.
No "Our picks for you". Make your own playlist, make your own discoveries.
Songs and playlists stay in the browser's local storage. Doesn't go to cloud, doesn't reach our servers.
Our code is transparent. See what we do, contribute if you want. For the community, with the community.
At Melech, privacy is a standard feature, not an extra setting. We don't ask you to create an account, we don't collect your data, we don't track you. Your music stays only on your device.

Radio stations come from external sources. Stations may change, links may break - we apologize for these situations.
Your music library and playlists are currently stored only on your device. Keep in mind that clearing your browser data will delete your local files. To prevent data loss, you can back up your archive by exporting it or create a cloud-based music library via JukeHost (jukehost.co.uk).
